Amartya Lahiri
Professor of Economics
Amartya Lahiri is the Royal Bank Research Professor in the Vancouver School of Economics at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Before moving to UBC in 2005, Lahiri worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and at UCLA. From 2017 to 2019, he was the director of CAFRAL, a research think-tank promoted by the Reserve Bank of India. Lahiri’s research interests span the areas of macroeconomics, international economics, and development economics. His work has been published widely in leading general interest and field journals in economics.
Devashish Mitra
Professor of Economics
Devashish Mitra is professor and chairperson of economics and Gerald B. and Daphna Cramer Professor of Global Affairs at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University. He has been coeditor or associate editor of several academic economics journals, including top field journals. Mitra’s research interests are in international trade, political economy, and development economics. His research has been published in top general-interest and field journals in economics and his opinion pieces in well-known news outlets and blogs.
